IRES expands to South Korea

Date

Building on over a decade of collaboration with the Netherlands, International Research Experiences for Students (IRES) is now poised to expand its global reach. In partnership with researchers in South Korea, the next phase of the IRES program will explore the broader applicability of the integrative flood resilience framework developed through our Dutch collaboration. This expansion supports the institute’s mission of fostering a global learning community for coastal resilience and will help identify context-specific strategies for mitigating flood risks. By engaging students in transdisciplinary research across diverse geographic and cultural settings, the program continues to cultivate the next generation of engineers and scientists equipped to address complex flood-related challenges both in the U.S. and around the world.
