CIVIC INNOVATION CHALLENGE

IDRT’s partners in the College of Engineering at Texas A&M University produced this video as part of research proposal and grant concept for the National Science Foundation.  IDRT is partnering with Dr. Robin Murphy, the founder of the disaster robotics field of study, and Dr. Jason Moats, director of the Testing and Innovation Center for the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX).
Civic Innovation Concept: At Risk Youth Use High Tech Robots and AI to Help Their Communities Prevent and Prepare for Disasters

Goal: Create new, sustainable and replicable community-centric mechanisms for emergency managers, school districts, and researchers to work together to enable vulnerable communities to prepare for, and mitigate, the impact of natural disasters.

This work is supported by the National Science Foundation through the Civic Innovation Program under grant CNS 2043710 SCC-CIVIC-PG Track B: Community-Centric Pre- Disaster Mitigation with Unmanned Aerial and Marine Systems.
